Welcome

In 2009, the Deer Valley 2nd Branch Relief Society will concentrate on the 3 principles below. We believe as we focus on these principles, we will fulfill the purpose of Relief Society to increase our faith and personal righteousness, strengthen home and family, and serve the Lord and his children. As each of us strive to be our best and fully participate in this plan, we will grow strong together.

Friends-First we must know each other and develop relationships with those that belong to our Relief Society. This involves getting to know the girls we visit teach, those that sit alone in sacrament, or girls that just need a friend. As we get to know the girls in our branch, we will learn their talents, skills, and abilities.

Service-One important way that we show God our love for Him is through service to His children. This service comes in a variety of ways, large and small, and can be demonstrated by simple one-on-one interactions. Service to those we visit teach, via temple work and in the community will help bring us closer to Christ and His gospel.

Love-Relief Society gives us a special opportunity to express feelings of love and charity. We learn to love Relief Society and share that love and charity with those around us. Everyone wants to feel love and accepted. As we gain the ability to share God’s love, the Lord will help us find those that need to feel His love.

Instead of making a list of goals, we hope that focusing on these 3 principles will help us to be successful in achieving at least 80% visiting teaching, attending firesides, getting through announcements quickly, participating in 12 baptisms this year, and seeing the daily blessings in our lives.
